How many times have you been at a kite event or just out flying for fun and there was no wind or just a breath of wind? What if, even in these conditions, you could still put up a large, elegant, single line kite? Now that is possible. Introducing the Manta.
After the instant success of our Skate last year, people asked for a similarly striking kite but one they could actually see well on 300+ ft of line. So we went to work on a big brother to the Skate and the Manta was born.
The Manta is a majestic single line kite designed for ultra low wind. Its large sail area and thin .156 carbon fiber frame enable it to climb into the skies in virtually no wind, while its elegant shape is visible from far away.
The Manta has a hefty 10’6” wingspan, with the frame of a much smaller kite. Quite a bit of time has been spent to get the balance between optimum flight and durability just right and the result is a kite that flies very vertical in the lightest of breezes while not being too fragile thanks to its “gust –absorbing” frame.
And speaking of gusts, if you want to fly the Manta in winds higher than 8mph, add the extra stiffer spreader. It will enable you to take the Manta into winds as heavy as 16mph, without having to change anything else on the kite! The extra spreader comes complete with fitting and bow line already installed. With the stock spreader and the stiffer spreader you have a kite that will fly in no wind/indoors up to 16 mph of wind.
Also, if you have the room, take it inside, slide the nose weight on and glide it around. It will look like a big, gentle, graceful, well, Manta. Of course, this works outside as well, as long as the wind is light enough.
